As a native of Quanzhou, I have been accompanying my mother in worshiping the Jade Emperor since childhood, assisting her in preparing sacrificial offerings and folding gold paper. To celebrate the Jade Emperor's birthday on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year, I have created a series of posters that integrate the tradition of worshiping the Jade Emperor and burning gold paper in southern Fujian!

The tradition of worshiping the Jade Emperor on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year is a traditional celebration mainly observed in the southern Fujian region of China, as well as in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and other communities of southern Fujian people. This custom takes place during the Chinese New Year, particularly on the ninth day of the first lunar month, to celebrate the birthday of the Jade Emperor (Tian Gong).
